Apricus Resourcing are working with a leading Drug & Alcohol charity who are looking to hire Waking Night Support Workers for one of their services in Bournemouth. Within your role you will be working closely with service users in a treatment centre aiding them on their journey to lasting recovery. The role is based with an award winning provider, they are looking for dedicated staff to join the team and work on a permanent basis. If you’re an experienced support worker with a real passion for helping those in need and have an interest in working in the drug & alcohol sector, this could be the role for you! This opportunity allows you to make a meaningful impact while providing care and support to the service clients.

In this role you will support service users in a variety of ways. This may include harm reduction advice, formulating care plans & signposting to additional appropriate support services, then arranging the first clinical or psychological interventions appointment along with ongoing support in a secure setting.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Ensuring the safety and well-being of clients
  • Responding to any incidents or emergencies with confidence and care
  • Providing emotional support to clients who may be restless or anxious
  • Carrying out routine checks and light administrative tasks
  • Maintaining a secure and calm environment in line with safeguarding policies

  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • A kind, empathetic, and patient nature
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure
  • A genuine interest in addiction recovery and helping others

In order to be considered for this particular role you will need to have experience of working within similar roles either in the drug and alcohol sector or have experience in working within challenging environments. The role is based on a full-time contract paying £12.71 per hour working 48 hours per week (shift times 21:30-09:30).
