This isn't a hands-off architecture role; this isn't a people-manager title with a technical veneer. This is a senior technical leader who still gets their hands dirty; shaping cloud strategy with a client's CTO one day, working alongside the engineering team the next. You'll bring:
- Expert AWS platform engineering: designing, building and operating at scale in complex enterprise environments. Not just familiarity, genuine mastery
- Multi-cloud: AWS primary, Azure and GCP alongside it
- Terraform / IaC: you write the standards others follow, not the other way around
- Kubernetes / EKS: in-depth, hands-on, production-scale. You know it inside out
- CI/CD and DevOps: you set the bar across the team and across client engagements
- Enterprise client engagement: you've owned relationships, shaped strategy, and delivered outcomes at senior level in a consultancy environment
- Team leadership and mentoring: you grow engineers, not just manage them
- Pre-sales and bid work: you've contributed to proposals and you understand the commercial side of consultancy delivery
