The Opportunity

Our client, a well-established contractor providing electrical design and installation services, predominantly to the commercial and industrial sectors of the construction industry, is looking to add to their team with a further Electrical Design Engineer, based out of the Derbyshire offices.

Job Role

As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering detailed building services designs across a range of commercial and industrial projects, working closely with project teams from concept through to construction.

Main Duties:

  • Produce detailed electrical designs covering power, lighting, data, fire & security systems
  • Deliver RIBA Stage 4–5 technical and construction design packages
  • Prepare specifications, drawings and calculations using AutoCAD, Revit, Amtech and Relux
  • Coordinate with internal project teams, site managers and subcontractors to ensure build feasibility and quality of install
  • Attend design and coordination meetings with clients and other consultants
  • Support junior engineers and contribute to the development of the design team
  • Ensure designs meet regulatory standards, client requirements and programme deadlines

You will need:

  • Strong knowledge of RIBA Stage 4–5 design delivery
  • Qualification via degree or apprenticeship in Electrical / Building Services Engineering
  • Proven experience in electrical building services design within the UK
  • Ability to work collaboratively within multi-disciplinary teams
  • Commercial awareness and client-facing confidence
