The Opportunity
Our client, a well-established contractor providing electrical design and installation services, predominantly to the commercial and industrial sectors of the construction industry, is looking to add to their team with a further Electrical Design Engineer, based out of the Derbyshire offices.
Job Role
As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering detailed building services designs across a range of commercial and industrial projects, working closely with project teams from concept through to construction.
Main Duties:
- Produce detailed electrical designs covering power, lighting, data, fire & security systems
- Deliver RIBA Stage 4–5 technical and construction design packages
- Prepare specifications, drawings and calculations using AutoCAD, Revit, Amtech and Relux
- Coordinate with internal project teams, site managers and subcontractors to ensure build feasibility and quality of install
- Attend design and coordination meetings with clients and other consultants
- Support junior engineers and contribute to the development of the design team
- Ensure designs meet regulatory standards, client requirements and programme deadlines
You will need:
- Strong knowledge of RIBA Stage 4–5 design delivery
- Qualification via degree or apprenticeship in Electrical / Building Services Engineering
- Proven experience in electrical building services design within the UK
- Ability to work collaboratively within multi-disciplinary teams
- Commercial awareness and client-facing confidence
