The Company ApprovalMax is looking for a Product Manager to own two flagship products: ApprovalMax for Xero and ApprovalMax for QuickBooks Online. These are the company’s core revenue drivers, serving 20,000+ businesses across 70+ countries with accounts payable automation.

The Role Currently, product management is handled alongside technical product leadership by one person. We’re splitting those responsibilities to go deeper on both sides. As a Product Manager you will own the market-facing half, understand customers, decide what to build and why, measuring whether it worked, and coordinate with Marketing and Customer Success. AI is a committed product direction, not an experiment. Engineering capacity is being invested in AI features, agentic flows, generative capabilities, ML-driven automation, and you’ll own the AI roadmap for these two products, as part of the broader product backlog. Remote — applicants must be based in the UK, Serbia, Moldova or Portugal.

What You’ll Do:

  • Own the product backlog for both core products — define priorities, produce Feature Cards, and make trade-off decisions grounded in customer impact and business value.
  • Talk to customers directly. Understand AP workflows, pain points, and unmet needs. Develop and improve feedback channels (Canny, Intercom, CS escalations).
  • Define success metrics before building, then use Amplitude, Databricks, and PowerBI to measure adoption, usage, and business impact after launch.
  • Coordinate with Marketing on positioning, launch planning, and enablement. Work with Customer Success on post launch adoption, retention insights and roadmap visibility.
  • Define and prioritise AI use cases for the product. Build the customer trust narrative for AI with risk-averse accountants and bookkeepers.
  • Work in close daily partnership with the Technical Product Lead, with shared accountability for outcomes.

Must Have's:

  • 3+ years of product management experience in B2B SaaS.
  • Demonstrable experience of owning a product backlog and making prioritisation decisions independently.
  • Track record of using product analytics to defend or change a prioritisation decision — not just producing dashboards.
  • Has shipped at least one AI-powered feature in B2B SaaS, or has run discovery that validated AI use cases with customers and translated them into a Feature Brief.
  • Experience conducting customer research and translating findings into product decisions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication in English. Effective in distributed, remote teams across time zones.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience in accounting, finance, or AP automation software.
  • Familiarity with the Xero or QuickBooks Online ecosystem.
  • Experience in a product org that has transitioned to AI-first development practices.

This Role Is Not For You If:

  • You’re uncomfortable with ambiguity — some processes are still forming and you’ll build structure as you go.
  • You need a large support team. This is a lean setup, no dedicated researchers, analysts, or program managers.
  • You prefer strategy decks over execution. This role means writing Feature Cards, analysing data, and talking to customers, not directing from a distance.

What We offer:

  • Growing international business with 10,000+ subscribers.
  • Regular performance-based compensation reviews.
  • Generous annual leave entitlement & 1 additional birthday day leave.
  • Home office setup reimbursement.
  • Health & Wellness reimbursement support.
