We’re hiring a Head of Product Experience to own the Product Experience (PX) vision across ApprovalMax — building on a strong design foundation to drive coherence across web and mobile. Our customers manage complex, high-stakes financial workflows — and great Product Experience is how we turn that complexity into confidence. This is a permanent function leadership role focused on making complex AP workflows feel simple, intuitive, and fast. You’ll operate at the intersection of strategy and execution — setting direction while working closely with the Head of Design, Product Managers, and Solution Leads to bring it to life.

Why This Role Exists

  • Strong design foundation in place, but no single owner of the overall PX strategy.
  • Navigation, information architecture, and cross-product consistency need a dedicated leader to build on what the design team has established.
  • Mobile improvements planned for H2 2026 — Product Experience vision must be coherent across web and mobile.
  • Design team has built a strong component library and design system — this role adds the strategic layer on top.

What You’ll Do

  1. Define Product Experience Vision and Strategy
    • Own the Product Experience vision across ApprovalMax — web and mobile.
    • Establish PX principles and design standards for all product teams.
    • Create a phased roadmap for platform redesign aligned with product and engineering priorities.
  2. Lead the Product Experience Update Programme
    • Assess current UX and identify key friction points and inconsistencies.
    • Drive redesign from discovery to delivery in partnership with product teams.
    • Ensure alignment with the design system and evolve it where needed.
    • Plan pragmatic, low-risk rollout of major PX improvements.
  3. Product Experience Quality Gate
    • Ensure all product teams align with Product Experience standards and principles.
    • Make key PX decisions and provide guidance and coaching.
    • Build shared understanding of PX standards across Product and Engineering.
  4. AI-Assisted Product Experience Patterns
    • Define PX patterns for AI-assisted workflows: contextual automation, predictive actions, smart suggestions, and user guidance.
    • Establish principles around usability, trust, and explainability.
  5. Lead and Develop the Team
    • Manage and mentor Design team and UX Research.
    • Partner with Head of Product Design (who owns design craft and system).
    • Build a culture of quality, iteration, and continuous improvement.
  6. Collaborate Cross-Functionally
    • Work closely with Product, Engineering, Marketing, and PLG (product-led growth).
    • Contribute to roadmap prioritisation where Product Experience changes impact delivery.
    • Champion evidence-based design using research and data.

How You’ll Operate

This role works in two modes:

  • Programme Leadership: Work with the Head of Design to bring strategic direction to current and future product experiences. Work with Product teams for delivery.
  • Product Experience Authority: Work with the Head of Design to set Product Experience standards and principles. Quality gate across all programmes.

What We’re Looking For

Must-Have

  • Led at least one full product experience or UX redesign in a SaaS environment.
  • Experience with complex B2B or workflow-based products.
  • Proven ability to lead and grow high-performing UX/design teams.
  • Strong balance of strategic thinking and hands‑on execution.
  • Solid grounding in UX research and applying insights to product decisions.
  • Pragmatic collaborator across Design, Product, Engineering, and Marketing.

Nice-to-Have

  • Experience in product‑led growth environments.
  • Familiarity with FinTech, accounting, or approval workflows.
  • Exposure to international SaaS scaling.
  • Experience with AI‑assisted UX.

What Success Looks Like

Within 12 months:

  • Product Experience across web and mobile feels consistent, intuitive, and modern.
  • Complex workflows are significantly simpler and more guided.
  • Product Experience standards are embedded across all product teams.
  • The redesign is delivering measurable improvements.
  • The UX team is operating at a high and consistent level.

This Role Is Not For You If

  • You prefer hands‑on UI design over strategic leadership.
  • You want to focus only on design craft rather than product‑wide experience strategy.
  • You’re not comfortable driving alignment across multiple teams.

What we offer

  • Growing international business with 10,000+ subscribers.
  • Regular performance‑based compensation reviews.
  • 26 days paid time off.
  • 1 additional day off for your Birthday.
  • Remote office assistance.
