Position: Site Supervisor
Hours: Shift Works, Nights & Weekends Required (4 on, 4 off)
Duration: Ongoing Work
Approach Personnel are currently recruiting for an experienced Site Supervisor to oversee daily operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising site operations, managing personnel, coordinating processing plant activities, and maintaining strong communication with both management and the client. This role may also require a hands‑on approach to support operational activities when necessary.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the safe and efficient running of processing plant operations
- Coordinate and supervise day‑to‑day site activities and workforce
- Promote and maintain high standards of health & safety, housekeeping, and environmental compliance
- Participate in site safety briefings, toolbox talks, and meetings
- Work closely with senior management to optimise productivity and operational performance
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with clients and site management teams
- Ensure all contractors comply with site procedures, documentation, and safe systems of work
- Identify and report site issues promptly to ensure efficient resolution
- Complete daily allocation reports, production records, and tonnage documentation accurately
- Monitor plant performance and carry out routine inspections to identify defects
- Undertake minor maintenance or repairs where appropriate and escalate larger issues through the correct reporting channels
- Maintain accurate operational records, stock information, and site activity logs
Skills & Experience
- Previous supervisory experience within crushing, screening, or batching operations
- Experience completing RAMS and supervising safe systems of work
- Strong understanding of plant operations and basic maintenance procedures
- Background within construction, quarrying, aggregates, or heavy industrial environments
- Good awareness of operational, commercial, and contractual responsibilities
- Strong communication and organisational skills
Requirements
- SSSTS or SMSTS (preferred)
- SHE Level 3 or 4 NVQ (considered)
- Fire Marshal certificate
- First Aid certificate
