Due to continued growth, they are now seeking an experienced and motivated Maintenance Technician to join their manufacturing team based in Alfreton.
While the role includes some mechanical work, the primary focus is electrical fault finding, maintenance, and improvement of industrial systems.
This role offers the opportunity to apply strong electrical fundamentals while developing experience with production machinery, automation systems, and industrial engineering practices.

What’s Involved?
As a Maintenance Technician, you will play a vital role in diagnosing breakdowns, restoring equipment safely, and driving continuous improvement.
Your key responsibilities will include
- Fault Finding & Repair: Carrying out electrical fault finding on production machinery, control systems, motors, drives, sensors, and control panels.
- Preventative Maintenance: Supporting planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities to maximize plant efficiency and minimize downtime.
- Automation Systems: Working directly with PLC-controlled equipment and industrial automation systems.
- Capital Projects: Getting involved in electrical upgrades, installation, and commissioning of new equipment, supporting work from initial Design through to Manufacture.
- Collaboration: Liaising with specialist contractors and suppliers when required to maintain site safety and standards.
What Do You Need?
We are seeking team players who are eager to expand their capabilities and bring the following credentials:
- Qualifications: A time-served apprenticeship in Electrical Installation, Electrical Maintenance, Engineering Maintenance, or a related discipline, alongside an Electrical qualification to NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent).
- Technical Skills: Strong practical electrical fault-finding skills and the ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and circuit drawings.
- Industry Experience: Proven experience working with industrial electrical systems (experience within manufacturing or process industries is highly advantageous).
- Desirable Knowledge: Familiarity with PLC-controlled systems, industrial automation, motors, drives, and sensors is a distinct advantage.
