About the Role
We’re hiring two catering assistants to work on a large, secure site supporting daily food service for site workers. This is a busy, fast-paced environment where reliability and teamwork are essential.
Main Duties
- Food Preparation
- Help with basic food prep (e.g. sandwiches, salads, chopping veg)
- Portion and reheat meals
- Follow food hygiene and safety rules
- Serving
- Serve food and drinks in canteen or buffet areas
- Operate counters or tills (if front-of-house)
- Assist with plating and presentation
- Cleaning
- Wash dishes and kitchen equipment
- Clean prep areas, tables, and floors
- Manage waste and follow hygiene standards
- Stock
- Restock ingredients and kitchen supplies
- Receive deliveries
- Report low stock to supervisors
- General Support
- Help chefs and supervisors during busy times
- Set up and clear down service areas
- Occasionally assist with kitchen logs or admin
Requirements
- At least 1 year of catering or kitchen experience
- Full UK driving licence
- Must have lived in the UK for at least 3 years (due to site clearance checks)
- Good understanding of health and safety
- Able to work well in a team and communicate clearly
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
