Are you an experienced Quantity Surveyor, with a background working on social housing contracts/schemes? Approach Personnel are proud to be partnered with a regional, social housing contractor who are currently looking to appoint a Quantity Surveyor to join them on a permanent basis to oversee projects across South & West Yorkshire. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for the commercial success of our social housing contracts, through negotiating with sub contractors and managing costs throughout the schemes.

What are we looking for?

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor working in the social housing sector.
  • Ideally, a degree in Quantity Surveying
  • Strong understanding of cost management and sub-contractor procurement.
  • Computer literate with good working knowledge of Microsoft Packages.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Negotiating with suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Assess contract risk and work with the site team to develop and manage mitigation plans.
  • Review all contract documents to ensure the business is protected at all times.
  • Manage all commercial aspects related to the contracts.
  • Ensure that all group commercial policies are being adhered to and that all legislations are being met.
  • Manage our established list of supply chain sub-contractors.
