Approach Personnel are currently looking for an experienced Site Engineer Contractor to join a busy project team for a 6-month contract. You will be responsible for supporting the Project Manager with the delivery of works to programme and specification, supervising subcontractors, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring works are completed safely and efficiently. The role will involve setting out, QA checks, interpreting drawings, coordinating subcontractors, and supporting the Site Manager to ensure works are delivered safely, on time, and to a high standard. You will be working on one main site location but may need to do smaller jobs in other local areas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide daily reports/diaries of all activities
- Carry out daily and weekly surveys
- Ensure health, safety, quality and CQA compliance across all works
- GPS setting out and machine control
- Maintain accurate construction records including concreting, reinforcement, piling, compaction, drilling and stockpile surveys
- Arrange CBR testing and maintain records
- Monitor and record daily weather conditions
- Produce photographic evidence where required
- Upload information to SharePoint
- Develop project-specific procedures
- Produce RAMS for construction activities
- Order materials in line with specifications and programme requirements
- Support the Project Manager with site delivery and assume responsibilities alongside the Works Manager during periods of absence
Requirements:
- Proven experience working as a Site Engineer within construction, civils, or groundworks
- Strong knowledge and experience using GPS and Total Stations
- Experience with earthworks, groundworks, and services installation
- QA/QC experience within live construction projects
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Strong communication and organisational skills
Desirable:
- Valid SMSTS Certification
- Previous experience working on infrastructure or large-scale civils projects
