Head of Engineering (Portsmouth)

We are seeking an experienced Head of Engineering to lead a dynamic team and drive strategic growth across two major UK sites. Key Responsibilities :

• Lead and manage engineering teams across multiple locations
• Develop and implement technology strategies to meet growth targets
• Oversee the planning and execution of customer-funded and internal development programs
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and communications, ensuring alignment with goals
• Maintain high standards for engineering processes, including design and risk management (FMEA, FTA, etc.)
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize product designs and supplier capabilities
• Ensure continuous improvement through process control and quality management

Key Skills & Qualifications :

• Proven leadership in engineering teams, with a track record of navigating change
• Strong background in microelectronics , electronics, hardware, software, and control system design
• Experience in hybrid or mixed-signal test design is a plus
• Familiarity with Aerospace/Defence standards (AS9100, Mil-Std)
• Degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Systems Engineering; postgraduate qualifications (e.g., MBA) are a plus
• Exceptional organizational and communication skills, confident in presenting to stakeholders
