Purpose of the Role
The Business Analyst Trainer will lead, deliver and continuously improve the learner experience for the Level 4 Business Analyst Apprenticeship Programme. You will serve as a subject matter expert in applied business analysis and workplace adoption — helping learners build the skills needed to confidently and responsibly deploy BA across business workflows. You will deliver both face-to-face and virtual classroom sessions, embedding modern learning pedagogy, digital tools, and interactive approaches to maximise engagement. You will collaborate closely with the curriculum design team to develop, refine, and continuously improve programme content, ensuring it reflects industry best practice and cutting-edge BA applications. The ideal candidate will have commercial industry experience, strong digital/AI literacy, and proven ability to train and inspire learners.
Key Responsibilities
- Programme Delivery & Learner Experience
- Deliver high-quality face-to-face and virtual training aligned to the BA curriculum
- Facilitate hands-on learning with digital tools and real-world business use cases
- Coach learners to build BA-enabled processes, automations, and solutions
- Ensure an engaging, inclusive and supportive learning environment
- Drive learner progress and ensure timely completion of programme milestones
- Work with the curriculum team to iterate, improve and evolve programme content
- Bring BA concepts to life through case studies, examples, and real workplace context
- Embed future-focused tools, techniques and industry developments into delivery
- Support scenario-based learning, problem-solving and applied project work
- Work with employers to contextualise learning to real business challenges
- Act as a trusted BA skills advisor — helping organisations adopt BA responsibly and productively
- Provide programme feedback to internal stakeholders to support continuous improvement
Proven experience delivering training, coaching or facilitation (virtual &/or in-person). Practical experience applying Business Analysis in a business context. Understanding of BA adoption in business workflows, productivity, service, or operations. Skilled in guiding business analysts to apply data ethics, responsible AI and information governance in practical project environments. Ability to break down complex topics into simple, practical, workplace-ready learning. Excellent communication, facilitation and learning-engagement skills. Confident using digital learning and collaboration platforms. Experience applying modern data visualisation and analytics tools such as Power BI, Tableau or Qlik to support decision-making. Experience delivering apprenticeships or formal training programmes. Familiarity with project-based learning, portfolios, and workplace coaching. Knowledge of emerging technologies, prompt engineering, and automation tools. Understanding of Ofsted/ESFA expectations for apprenticeship delivery. Relevant certifications (e.g. BCS International Diploma in Business Analysis, Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst). Understanding of agile and hybrid delivery toolsets, including Jira, Azure DevOps or Trello, to support training on BA practice in contemporary project environments.
