This isn't just another SDR position with a fancy title. As SDR Team Lead, you'll be the daily heartbeat of our London-based sales development team leading from the front, not from behind a desk. You'll split your time between being a top-performing SDR yourself and supporting your teammates to reach their potential. When the Head of SDR is in our Chesterfield office, you'll be their eyes, ears, and hands in London - keeping the team motivated, maintaining standards, and ensuring nothing falls through the cracks. If you're an ambitious SDR who's ready to step up, who leads by example rather than delegation, and who wants to develop genuine leadership skills while still carrying your own quota, this role offers the perfect balance of individual contribution and team development.
Why This Role Matters
You’ll be the connective tissue between strategic leadership and daily execution. You’ll translate vision into action, spot problems before they escalate, and celebrate wins as they happen. Most importantly, you’ll shape the culture and performance of a team that protects UK organisations from catastrophic IT failures.
The Responsibilities
- As an SDR (70% of your time):
- Generate quality meetings for Account Executives through multi-channel outreach (phone, email, LinkedIn, events).
- Maintain your own pipeline and consistently hit or exceed individual SDR targets.
- Demonstrate best practices in prospecting, qualification, and relationship building.
- Be the standard others aspire to; your performance sets the bar.
- As Team Lead (30% of your time):
- Serve as the on-the-ground leader for the London SDR team, providing daily guidance and support.
- Act as the primary liaison between the team and the Head of SDR, ensuring seamless communication when they’re in another office.
- Conduct regular check-ins with team members to monitor performance, provide coaching, and address challenges.
- Review and provide feedback on calls using Gong, helping team members refine their approach.
- Monitor team metrics and activity levels, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Facilitate daily huddles or team stand‑ups to maintain momentum and alignment.
- Support onboarding of new SDRs, ensuring they understand expectations and have the resources to succeed.
- Escalate issues appropriately while resolving day‑to‑day challenges independently.
- Foster team culture built on collaboration, continuous learning, and genuine curiosity.
- Recognise and celebrate individual and team achievements.
Essential Skills
- Proven SDR experience (minimum 3‑5 years in a B2B sales development role).
- Demonstrated leadership capability (even informal—mentoring, training, or leading projects).
- CRM proficiency with Salesforce (or similar platforms).
- Organisational skills: ability to balance individual IC work with team leadership.
You're The Right Fit If You
- Have proven SDR success with a track record of consistently hitting or exceeding targets.
- Lead naturally through influence and example, not authority.
- Balance empathy with accountability—you support your team while maintaining standards.
- Communicate proactively and thrive on keeping stakeholders informed.
- Stay calm under pressure and make sound decisions independently.
- Genuinely care about developing others while continuing to develop yourself.
- Embrace feedback and use it to continuously improve.
- Think beyond your own numbers to consider team performance and dynamics.
