What is the role?
The purpose of the role is to support Quantity Surveyors and Senior Quantity Surveyors in their commercial management duties.
Primary Responsibilities
- Undertaking administrative duties to support the team
- Raising pre-agreed orders
- Reviewing subcontractor matrices
- Managing the simpler payment processes and loading budgets
- Primarily responsible for at least 3 sites of varying complexity, including setting up budgets, producing bi-monthly valuations, appointing subcontractors, and making payments to maintain close cost control and enable management decisions
- Ensuring weekly and monthly payments are processed efficiently, resolving any disputed items, and providing an accurate picture of site financial status
- Producing site valuations bi-monthly and presenting to the Board of Directors to indicate any variations from the budget
- Negotiating to obtain the best rates for subcontractor appointments to maximize margins
- Utilising the Persimmon Group COINS system to set up new sites, establish budgets, and predict site profitability for financial planning
- Liaising with other departments (Construction, Sales, Customer Care, Accounts) to ensure site efficiency
- Complying with the Group’s Health, Safety & Environment Policy to promote safety in project execution
Entry Requirements
- A full UK driving license is advantageous
- Understanding of HSE building regulations and legal guidelines
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word
- Familiarity with balance sheets, profit and loss accounts, and business plans
