Overview
Job purpose: A great opportunity to work for a forward thinking, national property maintenance contractor. As a Business Administration Apprentice, you will be providing a wide range of administration support to our branch and operational teams. Assisting the Office Manager with all aspects of administration, duties will include: telephone call handling, welcoming guests, processing orders, liaising with suppliers and other staff, organising paperwork, faxing, filing, photocopying, scanning, franking post, job tickets, typing up quotations, processing holiday applications, maintaining the plant and vehicle hire logs, maintaining the branch training plan, typing letters, organising and facilitating meetings and supporting contract staff and any other duties as required.
As part of the Business Administration apprenticeship programme you will be supported to develop a wide range of business administration and personal development skills required to achieve the modern apprenticeship standard. In addition to on-the-job support from the Bell Group team, you will have the added benefit of a mentor (the Branch Administration Manager) who will support you throughout the programme. A schedule of reviews will be agreed to meet milestones and assessments timely. This apprenticeship provides a foundation for moving into a business administration role and developing a wide range of skills and competencies.
The business administrator is expected to deliver responsibilities efficiently and with integrity, showing a positive attitude. The role requires strong communication skills (written and verbal) and a proactive approach to developing skills. The administrator is also expected to show initiative, manage priorities and time, solve problems, make decisions, and may involve mentoring or coaching others.
The administration role may be a gateway to further career opportunities, such as management or senior support roles. Bell Group will provide training to enhance your business administration skills as part of a structured induction including Business Essential Skills, Cyber Security Awareness, GDPR Awareness, Fire Warden, Mental Health Awareness, First Aid Awareness, Equality, Diversity & Inclusion, Environmental Awareness and Display Screen Equipment Training & Assessment.
Although we will consider all applicants for this role, it is anticipated that candidates will have minimum expected grades in English and Maths.
