We are seeking a motivated Apprentice Vehicle Damage Paint Technician to join our modern bodyshop environment. This apprenticeship provides hands-on experience across a wide range of vehicles, supporting your development into a skilled paint and refinishing professional within the automotive repair industry.
As part of the bodyshop team, you will contribute directly to restoring vehicles to manufacturer and customer standards, playing a key role in safety, quality, and customer satisfaction. You will be supported throughout your apprenticeship with structured training, workplace mentoring, and assessor-led learning.
What You\’ll Do (Key Responsibilities)
As an Apprentice Paint Technician, you will:
- Prepare vehicle body panels and surfaces for paint and refinishing
- Apply body filler, primers, basecoats, topcoats, and clear coats
- Repair minor defects on metal, plastic, and pre-painted surfaces
- Accurately colour-match and finish panels, wheels, or full vehicle bodywork
- Identify and correct paint or preparation defects
- Use drying and curing technologies, including UV, infrared, and catalytic systems
- Follow manufacturer repair specifications and British Standard guidelines
- Maintain tools, equipment, and materials in safe working condition
- Work efficiently to meet quality, safety, and delivery standards
- Communicate clearly with colleagues and customers throughout the repair process
- Uphold health, safety, and environmental procedures at all times

Desirable Qualifications & Experience
While not essential, the following are advantageous:
- GCSE (or equivalent) English – Grade 4/C or above
- GCSE (or equivalent) Maths – Grade 4/C or above
- Basic IT skills
- A full driving license
Training & Development
- Apprenticeship Level: Level 3 Vehicle Damage Paint Technician
- Duration: 36 months
Training Delivery (government-approved provider):
- Assessor-led workplace learning with online support
