We are seeking a motivated Apprentice Vehicle Damage Paint Technician to join our modern bodyshop environment. This apprenticeship provides hands-on experience across a wide range of vehicles, supporting your development into a skilled paint and refinishing professional within the automotive repair industry.

As part of the bodyshop team, you will contribute directly to restoring vehicles to manufacturer and customer standards, playing a key role in safety, quality, and customer satisfaction. You will be supported throughout your apprenticeship with structured training, workplace mentoring, and assessor-led learning.

What You\’ll Do (Key Responsibilities)

As an Apprentice Paint Technician, you will:

  • Prepare vehicle body panels and surfaces for paint and refinishing
  • Apply body filler, primers, basecoats, topcoats, and clear coats
  • Repair minor defects on metal, plastic, and pre-painted surfaces
  • Accurately colour-match and finish panels, wheels, or full vehicle bodywork
  • Identify and correct paint or preparation defects
  • Use drying and curing technologies, including UV, infrared, and catalytic systems
  • Follow manufacturer repair specifications and British Standard guidelines
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and materials in safe working condition
  • Work efficiently to meet quality, safety, and delivery standards
  • Communicate clearly with colleagues and customers throughout the repair process
  • Uphold health, safety, and environmental procedures at all times

  • Can travel reliably to and from the workplace each day

Desirable Qualifications & Experience

While not essential, the following are advantageous:

  • GCSE (or equivalent) English – Grade 4/C or above
  • GCSE (or equivalent) Maths – Grade 4/C or above
  • Basic IT skills
  • A full driving license

Training & Development

  • Apprenticeship Level: Level 3 Vehicle Damage Paint Technician
  • Duration: 36 months

Training Delivery (government-approved provider):

  • Assessor-led workplace learning with online support

All apprentices receive structured support to build competence, confidence, and industry-recognised skills.
