About the role: You will be working as a Paediatric Emergency Nurse Practitioner and will be responsible for:
- Carrying out thorough assessments of physical and psycho-social needs of children
- Assessment, examination, diagnosis, and treatment within an agreed scope of practice within the Walk-In service.
- Leading, motivating, and supporting team members in the facilitation of professional and clinical development
- Providing patients, carers, and families with an evidence-based diagnosis and an appropriate treatment plan
- Undertaking minor injury procedures, including wound closure with tissue adhesive or steri-strips
- Assessing post-operative wounds and applying appropriate dressings
Who we’re looking for: All applicants for the role of Paediatric Emergency Nurse Practitioner must have the following:
- Registered Paediatric Nurse with current NMC registration with no restrictions
- MSc in Advanced Assessment or equivalent
- Full eligibility to live/work in the UK
- At least 2 years UK experience working autonomously in an emergency or other unscheduled care setting
- Competent in physical examination of patients from 0-16 years
- Independent Prescriber (or on pathway to complete) highly desirable
- Qualification in teaching or practice-based learning
- Previous leadership skills highly desirable
