About the role: You will be working as a Paediatric Emergency Nurse Practitioner and will be responsible for:

  • Carrying out thorough assessments of physical and psycho-social needs of children
  • Assessment, examination, diagnosis, and treatment within an agreed scope of practice within the Walk-In service.
  • Leading, motivating, and supporting team members in the facilitation of professional and clinical development
  • Providing patients, carers, and families with an evidence-based diagnosis and an appropriate treatment plan
  • Undertaking minor injury procedures, including wound closure with tissue adhesive or steri-strips
  • Assessing post-operative wounds and applying appropriate dressings

Who we’re looking for: All applicants for the role of Paediatric Emergency Nurse Practitioner must have the following:

  • Registered Paediatric Nurse with current NMC registration with no restrictions
  • MSc in Advanced Assessment or equivalent
  • Full eligibility to live/work in the UK
  • At least 2 years UK experience working autonomously in an emergency or other unscheduled care setting
  • Competent in physical examination of patients from 0-16 years
  • Independent Prescriber (or on pathway to complete) highly desirable
  • Qualification in teaching or practice-based learning
  • Previous leadership skills highly desirable
