We are looking for a Design Research Lead to join an Innovation Foundation working on projects about the future of work and people who are being left out of the workforce. This role is for someone who loves to understand people and also loves working with data. You will combine interviews and field research with market and labour data to find real insights and help create solutions with social impact.

IMPORTANT: Based in the United Kingdom (Applications from outside this region will not be considered for this specific role due to travel requirements).

What you will do:

  • Lead qualitative research: interviews, field visits, focus groups and co-design workshops
  • Work with quantitative data: labour market trends, reports, surveys and internal hiring data
  • Find patterns and turn research into clear insights and stories
  • Help innovation and venture teams make better decisions based on research
  • Work with research partners like universities and social organizations
  • Support projects from the idea stage to scaling in different countries

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in research (both qualitative and quantitative)
  • Strong background in design research or ethnographic research
  • Experience working with NGOs, social impact or non-profit organizations
  • Good at turning research into insights and storytelling
  • Positive and "can do" attitude
  • Comfortable working in international and multicultural environments
  • Design Thinking knowledge is a big plus

Set-up & Conditions:

  • Full-time contract (100%), 80% possible for very senior profiles
  • Must be based in Europe or close to Europe (travel needed for workshops and field research)
