Are you an experienced education professional with a passion for learner success, team leadership, and quality delivery? We are looking for a motivated and organised Tutor Manager to lead and support a team of Tutors across multiple programmes and qualifications. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping learner outcomes, improving retention and achievement rates, and driving excellence in teaching, learning, and assessment within the adult education and skills sector.
About the Role:
Working closely with the Head of Operations and wider quality teams, you will oversee the day-to-day management and performance of Tutors, ensuring high standards of delivery, consistency across programmes, and exceptional learner support throughout their journey. You will be responsible for creating a positive and high-performing remote working culture while ensuring Tutors meet KPIs, maintain quality standards, and deliver engaging, learner-focused education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, support, and manage a team of remote Tutors across multiple qualifications
- Conduct regular one-to-one meetings and performance reviews
- Monitor Tutor KPIs, learner progress, retention, and achievement rates
- Work collaboratively with the Head of Quality to maintain Good/Outstanding teaching standards and OTLA outcomes
- Act as the first point of contact for Tutor support and guidance
- Oversee marking activity and learner engagement through tracking systems and online platforms
- Manage Tutor caseloads effectively to meet operational demands
- Analyse performance data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement
- Support retention strategies and interventions for learners at risk of non-completion
- Ensure the quality and consistency of live online delivery sessions
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and innovative education projects
- Produce regular reports on Tutor and learner performance for senior management
About You:
- A confident and supportive people manager

- A strong communicator with excellent listening and presentation skills
- Able to work independently and manage competing priorities under pressure

Essential Experience & Qualifications:
- Experience within the skills sector, ideally adult education
- Previous supervisory or team management experience
- A management or team-leading qualification
- Experience supporting quality assurance and performance improvement processes
