Freight Forwarder

We are recruiting for a highly skilled and self-motivated Freight Forwarder with a strong focus on sales, lead generation, and achieving P&L targets for our client in Hull.

Purpose of the Freight Forwarder role:

You will be instrumental in driving growth and profitability. Your main focus will be identifying and developing new business opportunities.

Duties for the Freight Forwarder role:

• Dealing with shipments from booking to final delivery
• Independently generate new business leads and convert them into profitable sales by engaging with potential clients through various channels, including phone, email, and face-to-face meetings
• Understand clients logistics needs and offer tailored solutions
• Quoting for shipments and negotiating rates where required
• Collaborate with the operations team to ensure seamless service delivery and customer satisfaction
• Provide input into the development of sales strategies, and work closely with other departments to ensure alignment with the company’s long-term growth objectives
• Tracking shipments
• Booking shipments with suppliers/carriers
• Record and process statistical data

The Freight Forwarder will be:

• Extensive knowledge of the UK & EU transport and logistics market, with an in-depth understanding of industry trends and regulations
• Experience in working towards KPIs and P&L targets, with a results-driven mindset
• Strong network within the logistics sector and a proven ability to open new accounts
• Have in-depth market knowledge and a proven track record of independently generating and closing leads
• Experience in establishing and nurturing valuable customer relationships, driving long-term business growth
• Proven track record in lead generation
• Have good knowledge of logistics operations
