Job Description
Are you a seasoned logistics professional with a sharp eye for detail and a passion for international trade? Our client, a leading name in freight forwarding, is seeking a skilled Customs Administrator to join their team. If you’ve spent the last few years immersed in Exports, Imports, Groupage or Full Truck Load (FTL) operations, this is your chance to bring your expertise to a fast-paced, growth-focused environment.
Hours:
- Monday to Friday 09:00 – 17:00 (overtime as and when required)
- Plus on-call duties on a rota
Responsibilities:
- Manage export operations and administrative tasks for full load shipments departing from the UK and Ireland
- Coordinate Irish import movements transiting via the UK, covering both full loads and groupage consignments
- Deliver high-quality customer service, acting as a key point of contact for clients and partners
- Process bookings and input data accurately into internal logistics software
- Communicate effectively with transport planners and shipping lines to ensure smooth operations
- Oversee all aspects of full load export procedures, including participation in the on-call rota
- Complete export customs clearances using systems such as Descartes and Destin8
- Prepare and submit export transit documentation via Descartes
Requirements:
- Port Health/Licences/ATA Carnets experience would be beneficial
- Knowledge of systems such as Destin8, CDS, NCTS, CNS, and Descartes
- A good problem solver and able to multitask
- Willingness to cross-train and grow skills in different areas of the department
