The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.

As a Unix Engineer within the Infrastructure Team, your primary responsibilities will be to support and build Unix/Linux infrastructure. This requires a strong knowledge of secure UNIX (AIX), system configuration, as well as integration and support of wider data center infrastructure technologies. Working within a regulated organization with strict adherence to security and change control processes, you will act as a subject matter expert for the Unix/Linux estate. This includes fault diagnosis and deep dive configuration to ensure services are running securely, reliably, and efficiently.

As the Unix engineer in a team of 4, you will support enabling data center infrastructure technologies such as storage, backup, tooling, and remote access. You will provide technical leadership and consultation for projects and support on administration and Level 3 incident resolution.

Required Qualifications:
  • Unix Engineering experience at a 3rd line level or similar.
  • Knowledge of AIX Power platform and guest build, configuration, and administration.
  • RHEL build, configuration, and administration.
Helpful Experience:
  • Unix/Linux virtualization.
  • Unix/Linux backup and recovery.
  • LDAP services.
  • Unix/Linux patch and license management.
  • Configuration and administration of SAN storage arrays and associated fabric infrastructure.
  • Configuration and administration of enterprise SAN solution(s).
  • Significant server build experience.
