Role Overview
Operational Technology Architect needed to work on the Security Architecture for Operational Technology for this North West based Enterprise level Critical National Infrastructure organisation. This is an opportunity to help drive the north west to its Net Zero target and support your local infrastructure.
Operational Technology experience in this role could be from manufacturing systems, telecoms networks, SCADA engineering, IoT, IIoT, smart metering, telemetry, utilities, baggage handling systems, etc – any of these or other types of operational security would be suitable.
Key Responsibilities
- Set direction and provide architecture leadership working with operational technology (OT).
- Develop enterprise security architecture and supporting policies, guidance in support of the Information and cyber‐physical security strategy, ensuring this CNI organisation is resilient against security threats.
- Establish secure‐by‐design principles for the OT for this organisation and create the benchmark for other architects in the organisation.
- Advise the business and technology on state of security architecture, assure designs from 3rd parties, be part of the architecture review board and work on HLD's.
Ideal Experience and Skills
- Securing enterprise IT environments, cloud security, and network security.
- Securing operational technology.
- Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non‐technical stakeholders, providing security direction and guidance.
- Strong documentation skills for security designs, policies, and procedures.
- Cybersecurity tooling – familiarity with security tools and technologies.
- Azure Cloud or other cloud technology.
- Any experience in working in telecoms or CNI or regulated environments with knowledge of operational technology or IoT / IIoT would be helpful in this role.
