The role
Are you creative, organised, curious and a great communicator? Vintage is looking for a proactive Senior Marketing Executive to plan and implement outstanding multichannel marketing campaigns. Working primarily on our non-fiction list The Bodley Head, and our Vintage Classics imprint, this role will be responsible for planning, budgeting, executing and reporting on launch campaigns in collaboration with colleagues in Editorial, Publicity, Sales and beyond.
Key responsibilities:
- Plan and execute impactful campaigns for your titles, including identifying the audience, creative consumer message, planning media space, partnerships and campaign analysis, to meet agreed objectives and timelines.
- Work with designers to produce best-in-class, attention-grabbing campaign creative and write clear, original campaign copy to attract trade and consumer attention and make Vintage books stand out in the market.
- Work closely with our media agency partners to run well-targeted, effective digital campaigns, monitoring performance against benchmarks to establish a framework for continuous improvement.
- Support the continued growth of the Vintage Classics brand, bringing an audience-first approach that uses consumer, cultural and market insights to identify opportunities to reach new readers and drive sales.
- Work closely with home and international sales teams to present our books in an impactful way that drives sales.
- Communicate with authors, agents and colleagues clearly and in a timely manner.
- Read submissions from a range of Vintage imprints and provide market-led feedback, working on author pitches as required.
- Build relationships with and grow your contact book of influencers, booksellers, brand partners, design agencies and other relevant roles.
- Contribute to creative brainstorms, generate ideas and develop them into sales-driving campaign strategies.
- Monitor competitor activity and be curious about the world around you to inform and inspire new ways of reaching readers.
Requirements:
- Demonstrable experience planning and executing highly creative and sales-driving marketing campaigns, within publishing or other industries.
- An ability to leverage audience insights and data to inform marketing strategies.
- Passionate and knowledgeable about marketing, keen to pursue new opportunities and ways of reaching readers and to stay on top of book, consumer and marketing trends.
- An excellent eye for design and strong copywriting skills.
- A love of books and reading (non-fiction and classics in particular).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, in person and online, with the ability to work cross-functionally and liaise with various teams.
- Organised, flexible and adaptable, with the ability to handle conflicting priorities/projects.
- A creative, curious, innovative and inclusive approach.
- Able to work effectively both in a team and independently.
Preferred criteria:
- Knowledge of and experience in running organic and paid for social media activity is highly desirable, though not essential.
- Experience in working with external agencies and managing media planning and activity.
- A genuine interest in the classics market, bringing curiosity and ambition to build brand equity through creative marketing campaigns.

Circa £35,000 dependent on how your skills and experience align to the role, plus bonus and benefits. While our offices across the UK are places to connect, collaborate and celebrate with colleagues, we recognise that flexibility around where you work is just as important. This is a hybrid role, working three days (Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays) a week in our London Office at Embassy Gardens.
