Join Farmfield Hospital in Charlwood as a Maintenance Assistant where you will be part of creating a well maintained and safe environment for some of the most vulnerable people in society. As a Maintenance Assistant, you will be responsible for ensuring the hospital maintenance tasks are completed as part of a team, and work is prioritised accordingly. You will conduct repairs, and work through job lists which also include working with external contractors and completing audits. Working alongside an established team, you will turn your hand to all maintenance-related tasks, ensuring the hospital and its grounds remain safe for patients, staff and visitors.
You'll receive training on the job but will already have some capable DIY skills. There's also courses on offer to help grow and develop your career. As a Maintenance Assistant you will have:
- Assisting with ensuring that the service, buildings, facilities and equipment are maintained and fit for purpose.
- Utilising good DIY skills to ensure safety of service users.
- Assisting in regular checks and maintenance.
- Assisting in the repair and maintenance of all buildings.
- Assisting in all decorating.
- Reporting all faults and defects to management.
- Coordinating and supporting contractors whilst on site and completing all paperwork and tool checks.
To be successful in this role, you will:
- Comply with system and procedures.
- Have previous experience within a maintenance role.
- Work effectively as part of a team and independently.
- Show courtesy and respect to patients at all times to ensure that they enjoy the highest quality of service.
Where you will be working:
Location: Farmfield Drive, Charlwood, Surrey, RH6 0BN. You will be working at Farmfield Hospital, located next to Gatwick. You'll be caring for adult men 18+ who potentially have a forensic background and enduring mental health illnesses such as personality disorder, substance misuse issues and challenging behaviours.
