What you will be doing

You will join an inclusive and supportive team that works well together to provide care to people with a range of Mental Health conditions, using your knowledge and skills to help people along their recovery pathway towards leading a valued and fulfilled life. Your day-to-day will include ward rounds, analysing behaviours and adapting care accordingly with colleagues, updating patient records, and providing overall care and support, which may include assisting with personal hygiene. It can be quite a challenging environment at times, so a positive attitude, compassion, resilience and vigilance are important. But it is hugely rewarding to see people improve because of your involvement, knowing that you've made someone's life better.

This is a permanent, 40 hours a week full-time vacancy, working on 4 shifts on 4 off, on nights only, but subject to change for training and needs of the house. We are looking for a female support worker for this vacancy to efficiently support our female residents at the house.

Where you will be working:

Location: Felbrigg House, St. Alphege Road, Dover, Kent, CT16 2PU. Felbrigg House provides a specialist residential service for all gender identities who have a learning disability, or who are autistic, and who have sensory and communication impairments. We are specialists in working with additional complex needs including: Epilepsy, Diabetes, Self-injurious behaviours, Prader-Willi syndrome, Individuals who may have limited hearing or sight, Individuals with mobility issues who may require a wheelchair. The service is staffed 24 hours a day by a dedicated team of Support Workers, led by an experienced Registered Manager.

Felbrigg House is situated in the Conservation Area of Dover, in Kent and provides a spacious beautiful character home, with two fully enclosed gardens and eleven spacious en-suite bedrooms. There is a good range of shops and amenities a short walk away, including outdoor recreational areas and parks, beaches, local beauty spots and zoos. Dover has direct train access to London and good road links around the area.
