The Role
Solution Architects are key technical leaders who translate a client's ambitions into feasible technical realities. You will guide projects from discovery through build, designing robust, scalable, and AIâenabled systems while balancing architectural elegance with pragmatic delivery.
What Success Looks Like
Beyond diagrams, you steward the technical vision from first conversation to final code. In the early months you partner with Product and Strategy teams, build trust with senior clients, and author core blueprints. Over time you become the central technical pillar, foreseeing and neutralising risks and shaping how we design highâstakes digital platforms.
What You'll Be Responsible For
- Leading Technical Discovery: partner with Product Managers and client stakeholders to run discovery workshops and feasibility studies, decomposing large, ambiguous problems into clear technical roadmaps.
- Owning Technical Blueprints: author and own core technical blueprints, including reference architectures, integration strategies, migration plans, and governance models.
- Evaluating and Selecting Technology: lead the evaluation and selection of technologies, frameworks, patterns, and platforms, balancing innovation with pragmatism.
- Guiding Build Phases: steward the architectural vision during build, partnering with Staff Engineers and delivery teams, attending ceremonies to ensure adherence to agreed patterns.
- Communicating Value and Tradeâoffs: serve as the lead technical voice, clearly articulating complex decisions and tradeâoffs to executiveâlevel clients and internal teams.
- Managing Architectural Risk: identify, document, and mitigate longâterm risks (scalability, security, platform choice, technical debt) in Architectural Decision Records.
Skills & Experience We're Looking For
- Foundation in Delivery: proven experience shipping complex, multiâsystem projects, often as a Staff Engineer or senior technical leader.
- SystemsâLevel Thinking: ability to design and reason about interconnected systems and their longâterm behavior.
- ConsultingâGrade Communication: blend of technical authority with high emotional intelligence, building consensus with senior clients and articulating business value.
- Deep Technical Breadth: strong knowledge of modern architectural patterns, cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), data modeling, security, and integration strategies.
- Architectural Vision: design solutions that are elegant, forwardâthinking, and built to last.
- CloudâCertified Excellence: current seniorâlevel certification on a major cloud platform (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect, GCP Professional Cloud Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert).
- Pragmatism: balance architectural purity with deliverable solutions, aligning with client budgets and timelines.
