Hinkley Point C , one of the UK's most significant nuclear new-build projects.

About the Role

As the

Lead Radiographer , you will be responsible for overseeing all radiographic activities on site, ensuring work is carried out safely, efficiently and in line with client requirements, company procedures and regulatory standards.

Acting as a key technical lead, you will play an instrumental role in maintaining compliance, supporting operational delivery and promoting a strong safety culture throughout the project.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all radiographic inspection activities, ensuring safe and effective delivery of work to agreed quality standards.
  • Report radiography-related issues and operational updates to the Site Manager and wider management team.
  • Act as the Company's appointed

Radiation Protection Supervisor (RPS) .

  • Ensure full compliance with Local Rules, Company Procedures and statutory regulations.
  • Maintain and oversee Controlled Areas, ensuring compliance with Local Rules and

IRR17 requirements.

  • Ensure all radiographic inspections and results are recorded, reviewed and reported in accordance with client specifications and company procedures.
  • Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with site-specific Local Rules and radiography procedures.
  • Manage the sign-in and sign-out of radiography equipment and ensure all equipment remains fit for purpose and in good working condition.
  • Escalate equipment issues promptly to management.
  • Follow and enforce radiography-specific procedures, including workflow and stamp control processes.
  • Maintain radiography equipment and darkroom facilities in a safe, clean and organised condition.
  • Promote a positive safety culture and report any unsafe acts or conditions immediately.
  • Conduct source accountancy checks in accordance with IRR17 regulations.
  • Provide technical guidance and leadership to radiography personnel on site.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • PCN BRS OR ARS
  • Current IRR17 Medical
  • Valid CCNSG Safety Passport
  • Previous experience working in highly regulated industrial, energy, nuclear or major infrastructure environments

Desirable Qualifications

  • Additional PCN certifications
  • Other NDT qualifications
  • Previous experience working on nuclear construction projects
  • Knowledge of radiographic inspection requirements within the nuclear sector
