Applus+ 3C Test (part of Applus+ Laboratories division) is a worldwide leader in the automotive testing, inspection and certification sector. We are currently looking for an Environmental Test Engineer to join our team on a stable basis.
Responsibilities include:
- Execution of environmental testing in accordance with customer specifications, international standards, and ISO17025/UKAS quality requirements.
- Set-up, monitoring, and control of test systems, including instrumentation selection and verification of equipment under test (EUT).
- Preparation of accurate technical reports and maintenance of project documentation using automated systems and Microsoft Office tools.
- Coordination with Project Managers, Laboratory Supervisors, and customers to communicate project progress and resolve technical issues.
- Support in calibration, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment to ensure operational reliability.
- Compliance with Health & Safety regulations, laboratory housekeeping, and 5S standards while identifying and reporting procedural or equipment inconsistencies.
Qualifications:
- HNC/HND/NVQ Level 4 in Mechanical Engineering with relevant experience also considered.
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BEng/BSc) or similar.
- Full UK driving licence or willingness to live locally for reliable commuting.
Working hours: Permanent early shift: Monday–Friday, 06:00–14:00.
Additional requirements:
- Strong command of written and spoken English.
- Operating electrodynamic vibration systems and/or other Environmental Test Equipment.
- Experience with engineering workshop tools, fixture design and mechanical modifications.
