We are looking for a Workshop Technician to join the Testing team located at our Nuneaton office. This role provides the opportunity to work on various automotive testing project activities in workshop and road/test track environments. The responsibilities of this role include:
- Supporting the engineering team with the complete automotive testing project execution including:
- Support testing activities such as brake dynamometer setup (setup inertia, brake parts assembly, brake bleeding, brake wear measurements, etc.), building fixtures, low voltage sensor wiring, supporting road or test track-based vehicle testing, and general automotive workshop support.
- Test preparation, operation, and data acquisition set-up.
- Test execution according to the defined procedures and specifications.
- Fabrication of fixtures to support brake testing.
- Ensure the correct organisation of testing samples in the workshop.
Supporting the execution of other related tasks such as test equipment and facilities upgrades, improvements, maintenance and calibration. To flexibly support diverse automotive vehicle-based testing activities as required by the business, including but not limited to the following: Durability, Quality, Infotainment, Connectivity, Brakes, EV charging, Electrical Sign-off, ADAS and Automated Driving. Ensuring alignment with corporate policies regarding project management, quality, OHS, facilities/equipment maintenance and calibration.
Qualifications:
- Relevant experience similar to an automotive mechanic/technician role will be valued.
- Basic user level in office applications and IT systems is a must.
- Experience in the automotive industry is desired.
- Metalwork and MIG welding experience will be valued.
- Professional working proficiency in the English language.
- Strong quality, health and safety, and customer orientation mindset.
- Must have a full UK driving license.
- Availability to travel if required.
