What you'll do
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure to support our applications and services.
- Collaborate with software engineers to optimize application performance and reliability through effective platform solutions.
- Automate deployment processes using CI/CD pipelines to ensure rapid and reliable software delivery.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to maintain high availability and reliability of the platform.
- Implement security best practices to safeguard our infrastructure and data.
- Conduct regular system audits and performance tuning to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
- Document platform architecture, processes, and procedures to ensure knowledge sharing and compliance.
- Participate in on-call rotations to provide support for production systems and respond to incidents as they arise.
- Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously improve our platform capabilities.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the team.
- Collaborate with product management to understand requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Engage with stakeholders to gather feedback and iterate on platform features and enhancements.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Platform Engineer or similar role, with a strong understanding of cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Ruby for automation tasks.
- Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Strong understanding of networking concepts and protocols, including DNS, TCP/IP, and load balancing.
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack) to ensure system health and performance.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
- A proactive attitude towards learning and adapting to new technologies and methodologies.
Nice to have
- Experience with serverless architectures and microservices design patterns.
- Familiarity with database technologies such as SQL, NoSQL, or data warehousing solutions.
