Key Responsibilities

  • Design experiments, collect data, analyze results and compile reports in support of AMAT's cutting-edge semiconductor equipment and system.
  • Perform hardware trouble shooting and characterization on a variety of process tools to improve performance, and provide clear direction to engineering team for new hardware development.
  • Interact with customers to resolve a variety of process and hardware issues/problems with limited supervision.
  • Provide leadership, clear direction, and guidance to junior process engineer and process technicians to support execution activities.

Functional Knowledge

  • Master's degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or Physics or related field with 8+ years of experience; or a PhD with 4+ years' experience; or equivalent experience.
  • Have strong knowledge and working experience in vacuum technology and semiconductor process equipment development.
  • Background in Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD), Atomic Layer Etching (ALE), and junction surface cleaning.
  • Familiarity with working in a clean room and on semiconductor equipment with experience in surface preparation and analytical techniques.
  • Knowledge and experience in Plasma Physics, Reactive Ion Etching (RIE), Atomic Layer Etching (ALE), Inductively Coupled Plasma (ICP), Capacitively Coupled Plasma (CCP) is a plus.

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members.
