Applied Intuition, Inc. is powering the future of physical AI. Founded in 2017 and now valued at $15 billion, the Silicon Valley company is creating the digital infrastructure needed to bring intelligence to every moving machine on the planet. Applied Intuition services the automotive, defense, trucking, construction, mining and agriculture industries in three core areas: tools and infrastructure, operating systems, and autonomy. Eighteen of the top 20 global automakers, as well as the United States military and its allies, trust the company’s solutions to deliver physical intelligence.

We are an in-office company, and our expectation is that full-time employees primarily work from their Applied Intuition office 5 days a week. However, we also recognize the importance of flexibility and trust our employees to manage their schedules responsibly. This may include occasional remote work, starting the day with morning meetings from home before heading to the office, or leaving earlier when needed to accommodate family commitments. This in-office expectation does not apply to contractor positions.

About the role:

Applied Intuition is scaling quickly across entities and geographies, and statutory reporting, clean audits, and compliant local filings are essential. In this London-based role, you will be the accountable owner of statutory reporting, audit, and compliance for our EMEA entities, including the UK, Germany, Sweden, and Saudi Arabia, with more to come. Reporting to the Director of Accounting, you will lead the EMEA local close and statutory audits, own the filing calendar, oversee the US GAAP to local GAAP conversion work produced by our India-based outsourced accounting team, and partner with Tax, Legal, and Business Technology to automate statutory and compliance processes in NetSuite.

This is a hands-on opportunity to build a best-in-class statutory and compliance function across EMEA for a high-growth company. At Applied Intuition, you will:

  • Own the preparation, review, and sign-off of statutory financial statements for our EMEA entities under local GAAP (UK GAAP/FRS 102, German HGB, Swedish K2/K3, and IFRS as endorsed in Saudi Arabia), including the US GAAP to local GAAP conversion and bridge work papers.
  • Lead each statutory audit end to end with our external auditors, from planning and PBC lists through audit queries, adjustments, and management representation letters, closing audits on schedule.
  • Run the EMEA month-end on the US close calendar: review and sign off statutory balance sheet reconciliations, drive aged reconciling items to zero, and maintain local GAAP schedules such as leases and accrued vacation.
  • Own the EMEA statutory and compliance filing calendar, covering VAT, corporate income tax and zakat (with Tax and external advisers), company registry filings, and annual accounts, so every filing goes in on time with no notices from authorities.
  • Manage the quality and performance of our India-based outsourced accounting team and of in-country auditors, tax advisers, and accounting providers, and turn statutory and conversion workpapers into standard templates the team can run with minimal rework.
  • Partner with Business Technology to automate statutory reporting, VAT, and e-invoicing in NetSuite, design and document the related controls, and bring new entities and regulatory changes (for example, FRS 102 amendments and German and Saudi e-invoicing mandates) into the process ahead of effective dates.

We’re looking for someone who has:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or CPA) with 14+ years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Proven ownership of multi-entity UK statutory reporting under UK GAAP (FRS 102) and the Companies Act 2006, including leading statutory audits end to end.
  • Experience converting US GAAP to local GAAP and reviewing GAAP bridge workpapers (for example, leases and accrued vacation).
  • Experience managing outsourced or offshore accounting teams, including setting quality standards and reviewing output across time zones.
  • Proficiency with NetSuite, ideally in a multi-subsidiary environment.
  • Sound judgment on materiality and filing risk, and clear communication with auditors, advisers, and partners across EMEA, the US, and India.

Nice to have:

  • Big 4 or top-tier public accounting background, and in-house experience at a software/technology multinational.
  • Hands-on German GAAP (HGB) and GmbH statutory experience.
  • Exposure to Swedish (K2/K3) or Saudi (IFRS, zakat, ZATCA e-invoicing) statutory reporting, or other EMEA local GAAPs and languages.
  • Working knowledge of VAT, Making Tax Digital, and e-invoicing requirements across EMEA.
  • Experience designing internal controls (SOX or audit readiness) and testing finance system automation, including applying AI tools to accounting workflows.
