We’re looking for a Senior Frontend Developer who’s passionate about building beautifully crafted, high-performance user interfaces. You’ll play a key role in shaping the user experience of innovative software solutions, working closely with backend developers and data scientists to bring complex ideas to life.

We’re looking for someone who thrives on turning concepts into seamless, scalable applications using Next.js (React) and integrating with RESTful APIs. You’re someone who cares deeply about responsive design, clean architecture, and delivering intuitive products that users love.

You’ll be joining a collaborative, cross-functional team where your voice matters, your ideas are welcome, and your code directly contributes to products used by clients tackling real-world challenges.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Actively contribute to the design, development, testing, and evaluation of software solutions
  • Ensure the successful delivery of projects
  • Present findings to clients through written documentation, calls and presentations
  • Be an example of software engineering best-practice e.g. Git / Docker / cloud deployment
  • Provide direction and mentoring to more junior frontend engineers
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and develop technical strategies
  • Lead user interface development using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript frameworks like NextJS (React) to implement complex user interfaces with dynamic data fetching and form logic
  • Design user-friendly interactions and interfaces using tools such as Figma
  • Facilitate UX/UI requirements elicitation sessions with clients
  • Interact with RESTful APIs for seamless communication between front-end and back-end systems
  • Deliver high-quality code and successful project outcomes
  • Provide mentorship to other software engineers
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in AI and machine learning

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Degree in a creative or quantitative field such as design, engineering, mathematics, finance. If self-taught, a portfolio past projects is required
  • Experience of leading meetings and presenting technical concepts to stakeholders
  • Experience of successfully leading complex frontend projects, including a holistic understanding of the software development process, from design through to deployment, and associated project management and risks
  • Experience completing code reviews in HTML/CSS/Typescript through Git, and applied other best practices to technical projects
  • Experience of successfully mentoring or managing project teams
  • Holistic understanding of the software development process, from design through to deployment, and associated project management and risks
  • Strong understanding of user accessibility needs, UI responsiveness across devices, cross-browser compatibility and performance considerations
  • Strong understanding of browsers and web APIs including HTML Canvas, Drag and Drop, SSE, WebSockets, etc.
  • Expertise in HTML, CSS, Javascript with the ability to write complex user interfaces using these languages. This includes knowledge of programming concepts, design patterns,, data structures, algorithms, and UI components or HTML DOM
  • Strong understanding of the browser box model, CSS flexbox, grid and layering and layout
  • Version controlling code with Git
  • Effective communication skills through written reports and an ability to listen and question
  • Effective organisational skills e.g. planning, time management
  • High attention to detail
  • Effective problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrable ability to work with, and contribute to, a team
  • Good understanding of cloud deployment
  • Familiarity with agile working practices
