NTT DATA is currently looking for a z/OS Mainframe Systems Programmer with DevOps β remote + on client site (Sheffield) β for our growing team in the UK.
Overview
An exciting opportunity has been created for an experienced z/OS Mainframe Systems Programmer with DevOps skills to join an established and growing team.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Performance monitoring using Omegamon, RMF, SMF, and Splunk
- Involvement in performance-related tasks and projects such as WLM, PR/SM changes
- Upgrading, maintaining, and supporting the z/OS operating system
- Upgrading, maintaining, and supporting ISV products from vendors like IBM and Broadcom
The ideal candidate will have the following experience and qualifications:
- Extensive experience in mainframe systems programming (essential)
- Knowledge of iWS scheduling software
- Knowledge of SAS
- Desirable: knowledge of MXG and MICS
- Knowledge of z/OS, SMP/E, TSO/ISPF, USS, SDSF, JCL, Rexx
- Experience with IBM and Broadcom products and ability to work independently
- Excellent problem determination skills and team player attitude
- Availability for off-hours support and on-call rota
- Ability to set and achieve challenging goals
- Strong communication skills, both written and spoken
- Ability to build effective networks and develop relationships
- Experience in creating and deploying business/operating plans
- Understanding of risk management and regulatory compliance
- DevOps skillset (at least some of the following): Github, Ansible Automation Platform, Nexus, Hashicorp Vault, Zowe, z/OSMF, Python, APIs, Grafana, Splunk
