Applica are supporting the delivery of a utility-scale solar PV project in South-East England and are seeking an experienced Site Manager to take responsibility for on-site construction activities during the build phase. This is a key role on a live renewable energy project entering construction in late 2026.

The Role

As Site Manager, you will oversee day-to-day site operations, ensuring the project is delivered safely, on time, and to the required quality standards. You will coordinate subcontractors, manage site logistics, and act as the primary on-site point of contact throughout construction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all on-site construction activities for a large-scale solar PV project
  • Supervise subcontractors (civil, mechanical, electrical) and ensure programme adherence
  • Enforce HSE standards and ensure full compliance with UK regulations
  • Coordinate site logistics, deliveries, and material management
  • Conduct daily briefings, toolbox talks, and progress reporting
  • Liaise with project management, engineering teams, and stakeholders
  • Monitor quality control and ensure works meet technical specifications
  • Maintain accurate site records, RAMS, and documentation

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Site Manager on utility-scale solar PV projects (essential)
  • Strong background in civil and/or electrical packages on renewable or infrastructure projects
  • CSCS card (required)
  • Strong knowledge of UK HSE regulations and site compliance
  • Experience managing subcontractors and multi-disciplinary teams
  • Ability to drive programme and resolve on-site issues effectively
  • Experience on projects >30MW
  • Knowledge of grid connection works and substations
  • Background working for EPC contractors or principal contractors in renewables

Start: Q3/Q4 2026 (construction phase)

Duration: 12–18 months

Day rate: Competitive (DOE)
