You are an experienced Senior Planner with a strong background in Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) projects and a proven track record of delivering planning and project controls support across complex engineering, construction, infrastructure, or energy programmes. You are comfortable working throughout the full project lifecycle, from early-stage engineering and design through procurement, construction, commissioning, and project close-out.

You possess excellent planning and analytical skills, with extensive experience developing, maintaining, and managing resource-loaded and cost-loaded schedules. You are highly proficient in Primavera P6 and have a strong understanding of project controls principles, including Earned Value Management, risk analysis, forecasting, and schedule performance management.

You are a natural leader who enjoys mentoring and developing planning teams while building strong relationships with project stakeholders, clients, subcontractors, and senior management. You thrive in fast-paced project environments and are recognised for your ability to influence outcomes, drive performance, and proactively identify solutions to project challenges.

We are seeking a Senior M&E Planner to play a key role within a major project controls function, supporting the successful delivery of complex engineering and construction projects. In this position, you will lead planning activities across multidisciplinary project teams, working closely with project managers, engineers, commercial teams, and external stakeholders to develop and maintain robust project schedules. You will be responsible for establishing baseline programmes, monitoring progress, analysing performance, and ensuring project plans remain aligned with delivery objectives.

The role will involve leading planning teams, integrating subcontractor and supplier schedules, managing critical paths, analysing schedule risks, and supporting project recovery strategies where required. You will also play a key role in earned value management, cost and resource planning, forecasting, and performance reporting, ensuring project stakeholders have clear visibility of progress and potential risks.

Working across multiple project phases, you will support strategic planning decisions, facilitate risk workshops, contribute to project controls best practice, and help drive successful project outcomes through effective planning and stakeholder engagement.

Our client is a leading organisation delivering large-scale engineering, infrastructure, and construction projects across highly regulated sectors. With a strong focus on project excellence, innovation, and collaboration, they offer an environment where planning and project controls professionals can make a significant impact on project success.

You will join a high-performing team working on major programmes, collaborating with experienced professionals across project management, engineering, commercial, and construction disciplines.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a major project environment where planning and project controls are central to successful delivery. You will have the opportunity to lead planning activities on complex programmes while working alongside experienced project teams and key stakeholders. The role offers exposure to the full project lifecycle, leadership responsibility, advanced project controls methodologies, and the opportunity to influence project strategy and delivery performance. You will work within a collaborative environment that values continuous improvement, professional development, and operational excellence.
