An opportunity has arisen for a Housekeeper to join Fell House in Grange-over-Sands. Fell House is a Residential Children's Home with Special School for up to 8 children aged 6-12 years. The successful applicant will work 15 hours per week, flexibly between 8am and 1pm, Monday to Friday. Salary range of £12.58 - £13.19 per hour.
The Role
- Ensure high standards of cleanliness in all areas.
- Assist the Catering Manager with catering tasks when needed.
- Assist in the maintenance of standards of hygiene and cleanliness within the house and the maintenance of fabric, furniture and equipment.
- Ensure cleaning supplies are maintained and report any damages to the Maintenance Manager.
- Inform your Manager of any special cleaning matters.
- Create a pleasant, warming and caring environment.
- Develop and maintain good relationships with the children.
- Encourage the children to respect themselves and others and to build a feeling of ownership and community within the home.
- Comply with the requirements of Appletree Treatment Centre and related legislation concerning children.
- Have responsibility for the safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the children.
Health & Safety
- Make certain that chemicals/equipment are used and stored correctly and safety procedures adhered to at all times.
- Understanding and ensuring the implementation of the Home’s Health and Safety and Hygiene policies, and Emergency and Fire procedures.
- Reporting to the Facilities Manager, or the Maintenance person, any faulty appliances, damaged furniture, equipment or any potential hazard.
- Promoting safe working practice in the home.
Training related specifically to working with us will be provided.
