Hours / Working Pattern: 37 hours per week, 8:30am to 4:30pm (4:00pm Fridays) Monday – Friday, Term time only (plus any training days). Part‑time hours / job share could be considered.

Salary / Hourly Rate: Grade CD, £13.28 - £13.47 per hour

About the role: In this role you will work closely with the Senior Science Technician and Science Teachers to ensure that all equipment and resources are prepared and set up in advance, enabling practical experiments that bring the curriculum to life. You will play a key role in maintaining a well‑organised and efficient department, ensuring that resources are fully stocked, clean, tidy and in good working order. Your attention to detail will help to create a safe and stimulating learning environment. In addition, you will be an active presence in the classroom, supporting staff and students during lessons and ensuring that Health and Safety procedures are consistently followed.

Qualifications:

  • NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in a relevant subject (such as GCSE/NVQ Level 2 in science or qualifications in supporting learning)
  • Appropriate experience of working with children, ideally relevant to the subject area
  • Good written and verbal communication skills – able to communicate effectively and clearly with a range of staff, pupils and parents
  • Ability to work successfully in a team

Desirable skills:

  • Knowledge of health and safety is desirable and can be developed within the role.
  • A willingness to act as a First Aider would also be advantageous.
