Do you want a driving role where you can make a real difference every single day? Yorwaste is excited to offer new opportunities to join our Transport team as a Loader at Harewood Whin Waste Transfer Station.

Pay: £13.55 per hour

Contract: Permanent, full-time

Hours: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday – start time 5 AM until 5:30 PM (Half hour lunch deducted)

Location: Harewood Whin Transfer Station, Tinker Lane, York YO23 3RR

Responsibilities:

As the face of our operation, you will help ensure consumer waste and recycling reaches its destination, whether it's a transfer station or waste recovery centre. You will be confident communicating with the Depot and Customer Service Centre, reporting non‑collections, anomalies with routes, vehicle defects, and other critical information to maintain our service standards. Working outside and in a manual environment, this role can be physically demanding. You will be required to load and manoeuvre heavy waste containers onto a vehicle lifting mechanism, plus handle and move other items as required.

Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, it is essential that you have a good understanding of the Yorkshire area, and while experience in collections and routes is desirable, we are committed to train a successful candidate with the willingness to learn and develop. It is desirable that you have a full UK Driving Licence, as you may be required to travel between sites during your workday.
