What you’ll be doing
- Help maintain and improve the local highway network, carrying out a wide range of routine and seasonal works, including:
- Kerbing, drainage, patching & ironwork repairs
- Traffic management and verge upkeep
- Operate highways plant & equipment
- Drive LGV vehicles over 7.5 tonnes (safety checks included)
- Join the out‑of‑hours rota for emergencies & winter maintenance
This is a hands‑on, outdoor role, working in all weathers. Full PPE and outdoor clothing is provided. This is a great opportunity to secure a permanent role in the heart of North Yorkshire, offering strong benefits, training and long‑term career progression.

Qualifications
- Experience in highways tasks or highways plant operation
- Class 2 (Category C) licence
- Relevant Level 2 qualification in highway maintenance or equivalent experience
- Experience with abrasive wheels
- Traffic Management TM1 and TM2
