What You’ll Do
As a Senior Building Control Surveyor, you’ll take a leadership role in delivering high-quality, regulation-compliant developments. You’ll:
- Manage complex Building Regulation applications under the Building Act 1984, ensuring compliance across safety, sustainability, and accessibility standards.
- Oversee investigations into dangerous structures and demolition notifications, ensuring public safety.
- Support and lead enforcement actions to uphold the Council’s statutory responsibilities.
- Contribute to mentoring and development of junior surveyors and help shape service delivery as we continue to modernise.
- Represent the service professionally with developers, architects, and residents, building trust and adding value.
Whether you’re already Class 2 registered with the Building Safety Regulator, or are actively working towards it, we want to hear from you.

*The basic salary for the post is from £42,839 – £47,181 plus a market supplement of £3,600 per annum, providing an annual salary package of up to £50,781.
For the right candidate, a recruitment welcome payment of up to 10% of starting salary may be payable as a one-off welcome payment.
