We are looking for dedicated and enthusiastic Level 2 Swim Teachers to join our leisure and wellbeing hub. Our team is passionate about providing a safe, high-quality, and comprehensive swimming lesson programme tailored to all ages and abilities.

We are currently seeking Swim Teachers at Richmond Leisure and Wellbeing Hub. We have part time hours, allowing us to grow our swimming scheme. We also have relief hours available to cover staff annual leave and sickness. All hours are across seven days - Monday to Sunday.

As a swimming teacher you will work within North Yorkshire Council’s Leisure Services team to plan, deliver and evaluate a series of swimming lessons providing a safe learning environment. You may be based at one site or required to deliver lessons across multiple sites. You will help develop water confidence, safety and technical skills across a range of participants of different abilities from non-swimmer to advanced, providing excellent customer care and feedback on progress. North Yorkshire Council’s policies and procedures must be followed at all times.

  • Plan and deliver effective, enjoyable and motivational swim instruction programmes in line with the Swim England framework, maintaining a customer orientated approach at all times.
  • Maintain a strong awareness of safeguarding procedures for children and vulnerable adults.
  • Uphold and adhere to all relevant health and safety practices and regulations.
  • Work collaboratively within the swim teachers’ team.
  • Deliver clear, accurate and assertive verbal instructions to lesson participants.
  • Adapt teaching style to suit different ages and abilities while remaining sensitive to individual needs.
