Position Overview
The Finance Manager – Accountancy (Children & Families) is a senior leadership position within the service, offering the opportunity to influence decision‑making at the highest levels and shape the future of critical services for children and young people.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a strategic business partner to senior decision‑makers, contributing to high‑profile transformation programmes and driving sustainable change supporting financial planning, including the Medium‑Term Financial Plan, and ensuring strong governance and value for money across complex and challenging service areas.
Qualifications
- Experienced finance professionals from the public sector (local government, education, health or similar).
- Experience supporting Children & Families services within local government (highly advantageous).
- Basic disclosure & barring service check (DBS) required.
