The predicted salary is between 37000 - 44000 £ per year.

We are currently seeking a Practice Manager to join our East Area Team, based in Scarborough. This is an opportunity to take a key leadership role in a busy locality team. Early Help works alongside children and young people (up to the age of 19, 25 years when there is an identified Special Education Needs and Disability need and their families). Our work is strength based and underpinned by our ‘Strength in Relationships’ practice model where we work alongside other relevant agencies to ensure we support children and their families to create their own sustainable plans that really make a difference.

About the role

The successful candidate will line-manage a small group of multi-disciplinary professionals, providing for their supervision, support, and training needs. They will maintain and develop high standards of quality and performance and represent the Youth Justice Service in a range of partnership settings. The Practice Manager will work closely with Children and Families managers and practitioners to develop effective partnership arrangements to reduce first time entrants to the criminal justice system and to prevent re-offending. A key part of this role is leading on service development and contributing to continuous improvement across the Youth Justice Service.

The Practice Manager will play an active role in shaping practice, strengthening our evidence-informed approaches, and supporting the implementation of new initiatives aligned with national and local priorities. You will work closely with colleagues across Early Help and wider partners to identify emerging needs, develop effective responses, and ensure our interventions remain innovative, reflective, and responsive to the children, young people, families, and communities we serve.

It is an exciting time in Children and Young Peoples Services in North Yorkshire as we plan our approach in respect of the Families First Partnership Programme and how we will be responding to the social care reforms. Work is underway to plan our approach and implementations for 2027. As a result of this, some realignment may happen with job roles in the future, we want to be transparent about this in respect of this role.
