Location: Pickering, North Yorkshire, 5 Whitby Road Care Home, with 37 beds. We are looking to recruit a Senior Care and Support Worker to join our team on a fixed term basis. This is an exciting opportunity, perfect for someone wanting to develop their skills and take the next step in their career. There is a good support network amongst the team. The post would also suit an experienced carer with a Level 2 Diploma who is wanting to work towards Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care. The team at Whitby Road are passionate about providing the best care and support possible to our residents. We very much believe that this is the residents’ home, and their needs and preferences come first, as we support a number of residents who have Dementia.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the shift and ensure the health and safety of residents and staff.
- Administer medication and coordinate GP/nurse visits.
- Delegate tasks and support staff effectively.
- Provide personal care and emotional support to residents.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive records.
- Support residents’ social, spiritual, recreational, and educational needs.
What We’re Looking For:
- A minimum of a Level 2 Diploma in Social Care.
- Commitment to complete the Level 3 Diploma in Social Care (full support and training provided).
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Flexibility to meet the needs of the service.
