Our Service
The Transport Services Team is a key part of the Integrated Passenger Transport Service within the Environment Directorate. The team is responsible for the delivery of the following services across North Yorkshire: Home to School Transport, Social Care Transport, Local & CT Bus Services, Bus Information and Infrastructure, Transport Policy, ENCTS and Transport Operator Performance and Contract Compliance. The team also works closely with the Councils Fleet and Operations Team who deliver the Councils “in‑house” transport and fleet services.
The Role
As a Transport Services Assistant you will join a busy team who are responsible for commissioning transport arrangements to schools and other establishments. You will plan, review and secure contracts to meet the requirements of a wide variety of customers. You will communicate transport details with a wide range of people, and you should have experience in effective communication both verbally and in writing. You will work closely with colleagues managing a busy workload and will record and update information on various IT systems. You need to be highly organised, able to work both professionally and calmly. The ability to handle pressure, find solutions to problems and be confident to work independently or as part of a team are essential.
