At Align Property Services, we’re looking for a motivated Marketing and Business Development Officer to play a pivotal role in securing exciting opportunities and expanding our client base. You will be joining our Business Development Manager, supporting the team with the day-to-day business development activities for a broad range of disciplines (covering Commercial Agency, Sustainability, Building Surveying, Architecture and more). You will be working alongside our Business Development Officers to drive our business into new territories.

With offices spanning across North Yorkshire, Durham, and Cumbria, our aim is to continue to drive business to the rest of our locations up and down the country whether that is facilitating client meetings/events, organising charity fundraisers, or composing winning tenders to retain clients / take on new. A little more about your team… In the last year, Align’s Business Development team has doubled in size due to the increased amount of opportunities APS continues to receive from both North Yorkshire Council and external clients (from National Highways to Westmorland & Furness Council, NHS to National Wealth Fund). Every day there is a new challenge, a new opportunity and the potential for new business. Within the last year, our marketing initiatives have also been driven forward including the introduction of an events calendar (and organisation of events thereafter) and even the production of a brand-new website, ensuring our image reflects our strong reputation.

Assist with general day-to-day marketing and business development activities to support growth initiatives.

  • Craft compelling presentations, proposals, and bespoke tender submissions that showcase our expertise.
  • Review and summarise tender documents, highlighting key requirements, submission deadlines, and evaluation criteria.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to gather necessary technical and operational information for bid responses.
  • Ensure accuracy, quality, and consistency across all submissions by maintaining compliance with brand standards.
  • Assist the Business Development team in generating leads and building relationships with potential new clients.
  • Plan and coordinate marketing campaigns, events, and promotional activities to support with bids.
  • Maintain and refresh marketing materials to ensure they are up-to-date, consistent, and aligned with APS’s vision and values.

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience within an office-based environment.
  • Exceptional written communication and editing skills, with the ability to turn complex information into concise, compelling responses that resonate with clients.
  • Strong organisational and project management abilities, with confidence coordinating multiple contributors and meeting tight deadlines without compromising quality.
  • IT proficient including the use of Microsoft packages and confident in using digital tools, with experience in using AI desirable.
  • Excellent verbal communication with the ability to build strong working relationships with both colleagues and clients.
