NYH Property are seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to lead the delivery of complex, high-value construction, refurbishment and regeneration schemes across our property portfolio.
This is a senior role providing strategic leadership and accountability for projects from implementation through to completion and handover.
You'll manage challenging construction environments, work alongside multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders, and ensure projects are delivered safely, sustainably and efficiently.
About the Role
This is an excellent opportunity for a construction professional who enjoys the challenge of combining heritage conservation, modern construction, stakeholder management and operational delivery for the public sector.
You will provide leadership for major construction projects, ensuring successful delivery against programme, budget, quality, contractual and statutory requirements.
In addition, you will lead multidisciplinary teams, manage contractors and consultants, oversee project risks and constraints, and act as a key liaison between stakeholders, partners and operational services.
Working with the Construction Project Supervisor and a wide range of construction professionals, the role requires an experienced Project Manager who can combine strong technical construction expertise with excellent leadership, commercial awareness, health and safety management and astute stakeholder engagement skills.
You'll be responsible for delivering projects across a broad range of disciplines, including:
- Heritage conservation and restoration.
- Building refurbishment and renovation.
- New-build construction.
- Infrastructure and utilities.
- Public realm and regeneration projects.
- Mechanical and electrical installations.
- Sustainability and climate resilience initiatives.
Initially, your primary focus will be leading the delivery of the landmark Scarborough West Pier regeneration project.
This is a major conservation‑led waterfront redevelopment for North Yorkshire Council of around £10m.
Beyond this, you'll play a key role in delivering and supporting a wider programme of construction, refurbishment and regeneration schemes across NYH Property, with an anticipated annual project pipeline in the region of £20m.

Working within a live operational harbour and tourist environment, you'll engage with commercial tenants, harbour users, fishing operators, visitors, local businesses and key stakeholders while maintaining safe and efficient construction delivery to restore this seaside landmark.
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for an experienced Construction Project Manager with a proven track record of delivering complex capital projects and managing multidisciplinary teams.
You’ll bring
- Significant experience in construction project management, with a Degree, HNC, HND or equivalent qualification in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related discipline.
- Experience of delivering major projects valued up to £20 million within timescales and financial targets.
- Strong knowledge of refurbishment, renovation and construction delivery, ideally with a Prince2, APM or equivalent project management qualification.
- Experience working on heritage, conservation or listed building projects.
- Excellent contractor and stakeholder management skills, holding SMSTS certification and ideally a CSCS Black Card and CIOB membership.
- Strong commercial and programme management capability.
- Extensive knowledge of construction health and safety requirements.
- The ability to deliver in complex and challenging environments.
