Job Purpose
Supervise the playground area, playing fields, cloakrooms and classrooms during the lunchtime break. Provide support to pupils, promoting their independence, self-esteem and social inclusion.
Responsibilities
- Interact with pupils to support the development of their thinking and learning skills, using careful questioning.
- Communicate effectively with all pupils, families, carers and other agencies.
- Help support children with their personal, social and emotional development needs.
- Encourage inclusive and positive play.
- Implement appropriate behaviour management, teaching and learning strategies.
Qualifications & Skills
- Passionate about caring for children and young people.
- Experience of working with children.
- Knowledge of matters relating to safeguarding of children.
- Ability to display positive social skills and encourage good behaviour in pupils.
- Ability to establish constructive working relationships with pupils, parents/carers and colleagues.
- Adequate verbal and written communication skills appropriate for effective communication with pupils, parents/carers and colleagues.
